The building is heritage listed and was built during the late 1800's to provide space for cold storage facilities and a fruit market to support the surrounding vegetable market that had already been operating in the area for a number of years. For a taste of the market activity which has so defined this region for over 150 years be sure to pay a visit to Paddy's Market which is located directly opposite the hotel and is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
