Taman Sari Brasserie
Taman Sari, meaning Garden of Flowers, is a quaint restaurant reflecting the charm and appeal of a resort restaurant. The 146-seat restaurant overlooks lush landscaped gardens and the outdoor swimming pool. The Taman Sari Brasserie serves a potpourri of local and western dishes to appeal to international palates, catering to both travelers staying in the hotel and business people from around the Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle.

From 6am to 11am, a lavish breakfast offering a selection of over-fresh breads, fruit juices, waffles and pancakes is served. A central buffet brings together the best of East and West in a sumptuous spread served from 12noon to 2.30pm for lunch and 7pm to 10.30pm for dinner. The perfect ambience for dinner gatherings.

Peach Chinese Chinese Restaurant
Located on the ballroom floor, Peach Garden Chinese Restaurant makes its mouth-watering inspiration towards our distinguished guests. At the entrance, an ancient silver coin etched with five bats, which signify luck to the Chinese is prominently placed on the glass wall that provides a screen of privacy to the restaurant. Architecturally, the design strives for a clean contemporary elegance utilizing ethnic artifacts and furnishings.

Chikuyo-Tei Japanese Restaurant
The Chikuyo-Tei, a Japanese restaurant set in a stylish contemporary interior serves Teppanyaki, Sushi and traditional Japanese Casserole dishes. There are three main sections; a Sushi counter cum a-la-carte dining area, four private tatami rooms and a Teppanyaki counter that overlooks a quaint Japanese Garden. The Chikuyo-Tei is a 90 seat restaurant set in hues of brown.

Songket Lounge 
The Songket Lounge, with trimmings and grand architecture reflecting the regal splendor of a palace court, is a fitting introduction to the peerless beauty of the Hotel Istana. Set amidst towering black marble pillars, the Songket Lounge is crowned with stately crystal chandeliers of imported Strauss Crystal all custom-designed to emulate songket. The 180-seat Songket Lounge renders a classic venue for business chats or get-togethers. With a refreshing list of frozen fantasy cocktails, coolers fruity non-alcoholic cocktails and aperitifs are served all day. Enhancing the tranquil atmosphere of the lofty Songket Lounge is enhanced by the light popular music played by resident bands.

The Musictheque
An oasis where you experience adventure and realize your fantasies, the Musictheque is a one of a kind multi-themed entertainment centre. Voted by the World Asia Media as the Best Entertainment Concept in a Hotel in 1999, The Musictheque is a virtual powerhouse of music and variety.

The 1927 Discotheque, named after Charles Lindberg's sturdy airplane can comfortably seat 200 people. Authentic flying boots, antique leather hatboxes, flying globes and goggles decorate the wall.

The Taipan's Club takes you back to the days of Suzie Wong, where Shanghai and Hong Kong were at their peak at the turn of the century. With a capacity of 100 seats, it offers areas for dining and dancing, and a stage for live bands. During the day, the Taipan's Club offers a unique venue for corporate lunches, product launches, seminars and fashion shows.

The Theatre, the state of the art multi-purpose entertainment centre that seats 120, provides the latest in high-tech audio-visual equipment to screen movies for private viewing within padded soundproofed walls.

The Karaoke Kingdom, with 12 private rooms set up in various themes, relives the romance of Italy set in the splendor of the Venetian Palace with Rialto and Murano.

The extensive banquet and function rooms are well located on the Ballroom Floor. The crowning glory, the Grand Mahkota Ballroom is appropriately named after the royal headgear of the Malaysian monarch, supported by five function rooms and eight meeting rooms.

Grand Mahkota Ballroom
Occupying 1,673 square metres of the Ballroom floor, the Grand Mahkota Ballroom is one of the largest pillarless ballrooms in Kuala Lumpur, according up to 1,600 for sitting affairs and 2,500 for cocktails. Equipped with the latest audio-visual systems, simultaneous translation equipment and other state of the art facilities, the Ballroom itself has a direct access from Jalan Nagasari, allowing the transportation of equipment and vehicles for major exhibitions. 

Executive Meeting Rooms 
Hotel Istana's extensive banquet and function rooms are conveniently on the Ballroom floor. The crowning glory is the grand Mahkota Ballroom, which is appropriately named after the royal headgear of the Malaysian monarch. 5 function rooms and 8 meeting rooms support this. The 8 executive meeting rooms are located on the 23rd floor for the convenience of in-house guests. 

Court Room
It is a medium size meeting place suitable for pre-functions, VIP holding room, meeting, and seminar. It is adjacent to the ballroom and convertible into a bigger size room.
