Jungle Night
A wide adventure into the depths
of a Borneo jungle. A wilderness trek through a tunnel of dark, moist tropical
foliage leads guests into the ballroom ~ transformed into the spectacular
rainforest of Borneo. Ancient tribals stand guard over the forests as the
primal sounds of birds and other creatures create an exhilarating atmosphere.
The mesmerising beat of drums announce the beginning of dinner, a titillating
spread of Sabah’s ethnic delicacies. Guests dine on cushions, at low tables
set with banana leaves.
The evening is a journey of discovery
into exotic Borneo.
Kampung Nelayan/Sarong Night
Live the carefree life of the fishermen
folks in the Kampung! The idle pace of a fishing village set upon the coast
of Sabah comes to life with rustic scenes of ‘attap’ houses ~ houses with
roofs of nipah leaves, bamboo walls and flooring. The villages are in jubilant
mood, after a bountiful day, and eager for a feast! Clad in colourful Batik
sarongs and straw hats, ‘invited guests’ join in the merry-making. Whilst
they sit on ‘Mengkuang’ mats, the evening begins with the traditional torch
lighting ceremony. Once lit, flaming torches brighten the village courtyard
where a feast has been prepared. Guests sip on ‘Air bandung’ ~ a local
syrup, and savour a multitude of hot % spicy and sweet & savoury dishes.
For dessert, fantastic assortment of fresh and local sweet such as ‘bubur
pengat pisang’, ‘keuh Melayu’, banana fritters, ‘puding sago gula melaka’,
‘chendol’ and more!!
It is a celebration of Kampung Life!
Pirates Nights
Draw anchor and set sail in swashbuckling
style for an evening with the infamous Long John Silver, Black Beard and
Captain Hook! Its all hands on deck as you cross the gangplank into a bygone
era whence pirates roam the high seas to pillage and plunder. The revellers
sport menacing eye patches, head scarves and wield swords as they sweep
into the arena. A motley crew of deckhands wait upon guests whilst they
dine on a lavish bounty of the day’s catch.
There’s ribaldry aplenty as the
crew contrive numerous games to test your pirate skills.
Carnival of Clowns
This evening is a step into a magnificent
carnival of colourful clowns! An air of frivolity abounds as a band of
clowns come merrily to your bidding. Set off by a myriad of balloons and
satin banners, guests are transported into the dazzling world of circus-style
entertainment where fun, awe and laughter prevail. The walls are lined
with fun gamestalls and a cotton candy machine where guests can indulge!
Dinner is mammoth array of International
specialities to sample to your heart’s delight! Hilarious games and outrageous
contests provide much entertainment as the evening deepens.
A pure festival of colour and comedy!
Hawkers’ Night
Experience the thrill of exploring
Sabah’s night’s hawker stalls! The thunderous beat of the kompang greet
guests an impressive welcome as they enter. The entrance is an arch of
coconut fronts and nipah leaves, reminiscent of a typical reception to
a village festivity. There are hawker stalls galore as guests, donned in
colourful batik sarongs, feast themselves to sumptuous array of satay,
barbecues, nasi lemak, roti canai, soto, rojak, Laksa noodles and delightful
spice-laden dishes. Hawkers delight guests with a demonstration of Teh
Tarik and Roti Canai making.
A boisterous evening with all the
colourful sights and sounds of a Malaysian Hawker street! |
