Mangrove River Boatride
This is an experience not to be missed! Prepare to be enthralled by the haunting beauty of the mangrove - among the country's oldest - at Tanjung Rhu. During a 2-hour boatride into the heart of the mangrove forest, you will be able to see wildlife of birds, small mammals and the diverse flora of the area. 

Cave Exploration
Langkawi's limestone caves are geological masterpieces created over millions of years ago and Tanjung Rhu Resort offers guests a chance to get a close-up view of the caves. Explore some of the caves around Tanjung Rhu - each with its very own legend. Some are inhabited by bats while others have interesting and varied wildlife. All you need are binoculars, a torchlight and an adventurous spirit!

Self-Drive
If you're feeling adventurous, and want to discover Langkawi on your own, do so in style with our convertible Peugeots. Of course, a valid international driving licence is a must. We drive on the left side of the road.

Shuttle Service to Town
The distance between the Tanjung Rhu Resort and Langkawi's town centre Kuah, is 28 km. By car, this journey will take about 30 minutes. This shuttle service is available to guests at scheduled times daily at a minimal charge.

It has been so carefully designed - both literally as well as figuratively - that the Spa 'lifestyle' experience enters a whole new dimension. Tanjung Rhu's imaginative response to today's Spa needs sets a new benchmark by offering specially-developed treatment experiences, rather than to be a follower of the industry standard. It brings together the best purifying and revitalising treatments from Eastern traditions that date back thousands of years, incorporating it with its own special treatment blends. These treatments have been derived and influenced from the Malay archipelago - Thai, Malay Massage, Ayurvedic and Indonesian (Balinese). Apart from the physical benefits, essential oils can have subtle effects on the mind and emotions. 

Urut - Malay Traditional Massage (Medium to Deep Tissue Oil Massage) 50 minutes 
Malays, traditionally believes in air blockages in the blood stream and vein as the main reason for our ill health and lethargy. Relieving them will eliminate the problem and heal a person sooner. It is believe that the deep penetration of the thumb, palm and elbow can relieve the pain in the receiver. 

Ancient Thai Massage (Manipulative, no oil massage & fully clothed) 50 minutes 
It is also called the "Lazy Man's Yoga", because the therapist is skilled at supporting you in stretches that are similar to yoga postures. In many cases, one can experience the benefit of these postures that would otherwise be difficult to achieve unassisted, because it can take years to develop the pre-requisite strength, balance and flexibility in order to achieve the postures in a solo yoga practice. 

Herbal Bolus Heat Revival 50 minutes 
This heated muslin parcel of aromatic herbs and spices is a heavenly health treatment in the raw. The poultice is used to alleviate pain or inflammation by opening the pores and bringing a medicinal heat to the muscles to induce relaxation. 

Hot Stone Therapy 50 minutes 
Stone massage makes you feel deeply relaxed, allowing the releasing of all stresses that are held within your body. It is really an amazing experience when warm stones are being placed on certain parts of the body to heal and improve symptoms of muscular aches, pains, sprains, and strains.

The Rhu
A restaurant that embodies the grace and elegance of the casuarina tree. This fine-dining restaurant with air-conditioned and alfresco sections - serving East-meets-West seafood cuisine, amidst the soft strains of a serenading string quartet.

Sands
Sands is an alfresco casual all-day dining restaurant offering local and western fare. This beachfront restaurant with ponds and ceiling fans, serves a variety of Malaysian and Western cuisine. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Saffron
This popular Eastern flavouring lives up to its name at this restaurant. This Mediterranean Restaurant is a popular spot any time of the day. Saffron also has an alfresco section with an unencumbered view of Tanjung Rhu's stunning sunsets.

Reading Room
A cool, quiet haven with a magnificent view, the Reading Room - besides being the venue of English Tea, or coffee, with hot scones, pastries and savouries - also 'serves' an extensive collection of books and magazines for guests' reading pleasure. Also available are compact discs and videotapes of movies which you can enjoy in the privacy of your own room.

Also available is the view from the balcony, where one can play the grand piano whilst taking in the atmosphere that can only be found at Tanjung Rhu.
