Overview
There is so much more to Singapore than shopping or business and Novotel Clarke Quay places you in all the action. Nestled in one of Singapore's most active entertainment areas, nothing is too far away. The conservation area around us gives an overview of the nation's history as well as a festival village of cultural sights and sounds. The diversity of activities at our doorstep is quite remarkable. The natural serenity by day and creative art performances by night of Fort Canning Park, is a stroll away. Along the Singapore River, of which we are the heart, you will be awed at the lively collage of wonderful dining venues and nightspots of Clarke Quay Festival Village, Boat Quay and Robertson Quay. Chinatown's quaint bargain shops and medicine houses are just across the river and the happening nightclub district of Jalan Mohamed Sultan is around the corner. Novotel Clarke Quar is only 10 minutes away from the CBD and Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre (SICEC). And Singapore's famous shoppers paradise, Orchard Road, is just a short cab-ride away. You will love how conveniently close we are to the Changi International Airport - only 25-minutes away.

The Heritage
The life-blood of Singapore's Heritage is indeed the mouth of the Singapore River, along whose banks Novotel Clarke Quay proudly stands. The very first Chinese and Malay settlers peddled their wares along its banks and watched as the first houses and businesses began in the area that has become the global financial hub of today. From the time of muddied banks of the river markets to the entertainment and tourism hotspot it is today, Novotel Clarke Quay has grown up with this exciting area. The area around our vicinity has been declared a conservation area as it still maintains the relics of our rich and diverse cultural heritage as a nation. There is a myriad of old shophouses straddled by the tallest skyscrapers in the city, museums and government buildings. This indeed is still the most exciting area in Singapore. A short walk from the hotel you will let you feast your eyes on sights that reflect 200 years of history. For a start, the Singapore River still bustles with bumboats and is home to an endless row of the popular alfresco eateries and pubs that make up Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Robertson Quay. You can also enjoy our "Garden City" by taking a scenic stroll through Fort Canning Park. And for those who like to party the night away, Singapore's most happening districts, Jalan Mohamed Sultan, Robertson Quay, offering pubs with various themes, and River Valley road are right around the corner. Across the river lies the vibrant Chinatown filled with street vendors and magnificent places of worship. There is a large number of routes all around the area which are sure to take you on a trip down memory lane. You will not miss the remarkable Sri Mariamman Temple - Singapore's oldest Hindu temple, Jamae Mosque. That is not all, the whole river area is full of intriguing stalls selling innumerable trinkets and souvenirs. Indulge in the authentic cuisine of the shophouse restaurants and let the Chinese medicine experts advise you on their traditional methods of curing all ills! Those who want to know more about our history will be spoilt for choice such as the world-class museums - Singapore History Museum and Singapore Art Museum, Asian Civilisations Museum and renowned Singapore Philatelic Museum, are around the corner. And not too far off is Fuk Tak Chi - the oldest Chinese temple in Singapore, now restored and converted to a museum.
